Most combustions use the oxygen present at 21% in the air. The gas supply replaces part of the atmosphere.
The oxygen level is lowered by dilution. Reducing the oxygen level to 15% for several tens of minutes can extinguish a fire in its early stages. Some special situations may require a lower rate.
This technology is particularly efficient and economical, but this gas is harmful to the environment and potentially dangerous in high concentrations.
This concept meets NFPA 12 standards.
